Faction

A faction is a group of players who are working together in the campaign. A faction will control a number of planets, produce units and store units in the faction hangar, and will have various objectives for winning the cycle.

In the current cycle, which began February 2017, the primary factions are the Free Worlds League, the Capellan Confederation, and the Andurien-Canopus Alliance. The Periphery is also a faction, but it has different operations and rules, and generally has less of a role to play in the fight over land that the other factions focus on. The Solaris Training Company is the rookie faction, which houses new players until they have mastered MegaMek and graduated to a major house.
